We are a family run business established over 15 years ago in Pembrokeshire. Initially we sold Furniture but over the years we have expanded into a whole host of Interiors. Blacktar.co.uk was created to provide home lovers with a beautiful range of Interiors, Home Accessories & Gifts which are stylish, unusual and all at excellent prices. Here at BlackTar we love what we do so are constantly sourcing new and individual products with care from all around the world that will not be found on the high street.
About the name 'Black Tar'
Situated in Pembrokeshire, West Wales, Black Tar was formerly the site of the traditional fishing industry of Llangwm. Llangwm was renowned throughout Pembrokeshire for its fisherwomen, who walked many miles around Pembrokeshire, dressed in their traditional costume and selling cockles, oysters and prawns. Herring fishing in the upper estuary centered on Llangwm and Hook, and this continued into the 20th century, until trawling further downstream put a stop to it. The fishermen used compass net boats that were covered in black tar - hence the name of the site.
